Thanks to funding from the UK Government, the Shrewsbury Big Town Plan (SBTP) partnership has partnered with eBike subscription specialist Hurrecane Bikes to provide subsidised eBike hire to Shrewsbury residents and workers.
Our subscription-based model will allow users to rent a bike from Hurrecane Bikes for just £20 per month for the first 12 months, then £30 per month for the next 24 months on a rent-to-buy basis. After the full 36 months, ownership of the bike transfers to the subscriber.
We want to help Shrewsbury residents and workers save money, keep fit and try something different when it comes to commuting. Here’s what’s included:
Top-notch Electric Commuter Bike: In step through, hybrid or accessible design options, up to 50 miles per charge, Shrewsbury Moves branded
All the Essentials: Helmet, lock, optional pannier rack and child seat
Ongoing Support: Aside from punctures, your subscription covers the costs of all non-accident or misuse repairs, services, tyres, brakes, batteries, motors etc, plus a lifetime warranty on the complete eBike
We are now releasing bikes on a first-come, first-served basis when we have them available. Sign up for the waitlist to be notified when we’re next signing up new subscribers.
Who can join the waitlist?
If you are resident in Shropshire, access Shrewsbury town centre on a regular basis, and would use an eBike for your regular commute into or out of the town, you are eligible to apply.
The application only takes a few minutes and does not require you to commit to a contract at this stage.
